Vivian J. Tews, age 85, formerly of rural Rush Lake, WI, passed away on August 9, 2009, at Kindred Hearts in Green Lake.

Vivian was born on September 29, 1923 in Waukau, WI, the daughter of Frank and Bernice (Hildebrandt) Bradley. She was the oldest of six children and a graduate of Oshkosh High School. Vivian was married to her lifelong love, Marvin Tews in 1944, and resided on the Tews Rush Lake Farm until March of 2003. She was the night shift Quality Control/Floor Lady at Ripon Foods for over 30 years. During her career, Vivian trained hundreds of workers and touched many personalities with her kind yet firm demeanor. She was a lifelong member of Waukau United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Sandi) Tews of Sun Prairie WI, and Kevin (Jackie) Tews of Pulaski WI; three grandchildren, Randal (Kim) Tews of Verona WI, Jeremy (Christie) Tews of Jackson WI, and Jana Tews of Oak Creek, WI; four great grandchildren, Allison and Leah Tews of Verona, WI, Emma, and Audrey Tews of Jackson, WI; one brother, Leonard (Dianne) Bradley, of Madison WI; three sisters, Joyce (Lee) Roberts of Oshkosh, WI, Shirley Zeitlow of Rush Lake, WI and Eunice (Henry) Guell of Lomira, WI; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Tews of Berlin, WI and Ruth Coda of St. Germain, WI; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marvin in 1982, a brother Dale Bradley, and a granddaughter Sharissa Tews.

Visitation for Vivian Tews will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home: 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI, and again on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, from 11 – 12:00 noon at Waukau United Methodist Church: 2644 State Road 116, Waukau, WI.

Funeral service for Vivian Tews will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 12:00 noon at Waukau United Methodist Church in Waukau, WI. Reverend Chuck Davis will officiate. A private burial will be held at the Nepeuskun cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name.

Vivian’s family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hearts of Green Lake and Agnesian Hospice Hope for the caring support given to Vivian and her family.
Vivian will be fondly remembered by all who came in contact with her.
