Walter Louis “Shorty” Kotlowski, 79, of N7847 County Trunk E, Town of Ripon, died Friday, April 7, 1989, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 28, 1909, in Berlin, to Michael and Mary Frost Kotlowski. In 1935, he married Doris Elaine Wiese and she preceded him in death on March 9, 1974. On April 15, 1978, he married Josephine Hieland.

Mr. Kotlowski was educated in Berlin and resided in the Ripon/Berlin area most of his life. He was a farmer and worked for Green Giant in Ripon. Mr. Kotlowski was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus in Ripon and then Berlin Eagles.

Survivors include his wife; three son, William of Pickett and Michael and James, both of Ripon; one stepdaughter, Barbara Sullivan of Brownwood, TX’ 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and one brother, Louis of Berlin. He was preceded in death by his first wife and one son, Walter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 10, 1989, at 10:30 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. The Reverend William L. Toelle will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Berlin.

Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm.
