Walter H. Schmeling, age 92, of Princeton, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Ripon Medical Center.
He ws born December 27, 1906, in Milwaukee, a son to Otto and
Hedwig (Schultz) Schmeling. He was a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran
High School in Milwaukee. On May 26, 1928, he married Linda Dettmann.
Walter had been a newspaper printer in the Milwaukee area. He moved to
Princeton 8 years ago.
Survivors include 2 sons, Roy (Betty) Schmeling of Milwaukee and Carl (Nancy) Schmeling of Eagle River; 1 daughter, Dolores De Leeuw of Grafton; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gerhart & William Schmeling; and 2 sisters, Lydia & Gertie. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Linda in 1961.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 24, 1999, from 9 until 11 AM at the Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Grafton. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 AM at the church with the Rev. Franz Rigert officiating, and interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Milwaukee.
