Walter Talley

Walter “Ed” Edward Talley, age 89, of Montello, WI, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the VA Hospice Center in Madison.
Walter was born July 22, 1929, at the family farm in Baraboo, WI, the son of Hilda (Benz) Talley. He helped work the farm for his mom and grandparents. Walter was drafted in the United States Army and married Ruth Koch before leaving. During his years working, Walter worked for Bruing Concrete in Sauk City and worked in construction for a number of years. He also worked for Samuel in Portage and was employed for 50 years with Richard and Marcus Gumz Brothers. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.
Survivors include eight children, Faye Hart of Packwaukee, WI, Judy (Ron) Sornson of Pinellas Park, FL, Wayne (Karen) Talley of Baraboo, WI, Phyllis (Frank) Grossman of Portage, WI, Brenda (Dennis) Miller of Ripon, WI, Barry (Judy) of Ripon, WI, Georgia (Terry) Boehlke of Lake Delton, WI and Tim (Becky) Talley of Montello, WI; the mother of his children, Ruth Koch of Portage, WI and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, son-in-law and adopted grandson, Joey Talley.
Per Walter’s wishes, there will be no service. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice in his name.
