Walter Wizner

Walter “Duke” Vincent Wizner, age 71, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 1985, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Walter was born July 3, 1913, in Ripon, WI, the son of Frank and Gladys (Antkowiak) Wizner. He lived in Ripon all of his life and served our country in the Ripon National Guard. Walter married Ella Mae J. Hielsberg of November 24, 1938 in Ripon. He worked as a supervisor at Speed Queen. Walter was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon, Ripon Eagles, Izaak Walton Rod and Gun Club and Woods and Wildlife Association.

Survivors include his wife, Ella; two daughters, Darlene J. Neuman of McHenry, IL and Carol Zellmer of South Amhurst, OH; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers, Leo and Charles Wizner of Ripon, WI and five sisters, Geraldine Krentz and Helen Smith both of Ripon, WI, Betty Smodi of Milwaukee, WI, Jeannette Jawor of Chicago, IL and Florence Eslien of Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation for Walter will be held on Sunday, April 7, 1985, from 4 – 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 8, 1985, at 12:00 pm at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Reverend William Toelle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
