Walter Vincent Zwolski, age 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.
Walter was born on June 18, 1933, in Ripon, the son of Roman Sr. and Katherine (Wizner) Zwolski. He served our country in the United States Army in the Korean War and was in the National Guards. In 1958, Walter married Margaret Perr in Ripon. Walter worked for Speed Queen for 40 years, drove school bus for 35 years, was on the Ripon Fire Department for 30 years and worked for Auction Associates. He loved the outdoors and was an above average hunter and the best fisherman. Walter was a great softball player and had lots of fun with his bowling teams. He loved to spend time at his cottage in the summer.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Margaret of Ripon, WI; three daughters, Patty (John) Berger, Margie (Jim) Wesner and Judy Kranz; one son, Rick (Brenda) Zwolski all of Ripon; nine grandchildren, Adam (Dana) Reyes, Crystal Reyes, James Wesner III, Brian, Heather, Brad (Tiffany) Kranz, Austin and Allison Berger, Morgan Kelma; one great-grandson, Hunter and one great-granddaughter on the way. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jason Reyes; brother, Roman Zwolski Jr. and sister, Rosemary Pommering.
Public visitation for Walter Zwolski will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Private family prayer service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, with Father Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
