Ward Erickson

Ward “Joe” Erickson, age 78, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017, at his home with his family by his side.

Joe was born in Berlin, WI, on March 19, 1939, the son of Ward and Helen (Norton) Erickson. He attended Berlin High School, and served his country in the National Guard. In 1960, he married Sharon Kallas in Poy Sippi, WI. Joe was a truck driver for most of his life, and was one of the first to drive truck for Flash Sand Hauling in Green Lake. His favorite, however, was driving for Green Lake Ready Mix. He also enjoyed his part time job of repairing boats and other tasks at Norton’s Marina in Green Lake. Joe’s hobbies included his ATV “The Green Machine,” a boat, a stock car, and his hobby train.

Joe is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughter, Tricia J. Erickson and his grandson, Jeremy J. Erickson both of Oshkosh, WI; sisters, Patricia Neuenfeldt of Ripon, WI and Elizabeth Quick of Fond du Lac, WI; sisters-in-law Dawn Caldrone of Green Lake and Kandace (Mark) Werner of Neenah, WI; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Lucille Kallas; a brother-in-law, Richard Kallas; and one sister-in-law, Kathleen Schaele.

A visitation for Joe will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at The Federated Church of Green Lake, 489 Scott St, Green Lake, WI, 54941.

A memorial service for Joe will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at The Federated Church of Green Lake, with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 400 S. Executive Drive, Suite 109, Brookfield, WI, 53005, specifically to Bella’s Believers, or to the Fox Valley Autism Association, 5733 W. Grande Market Dr, Appleton, WI, 54913.
