Warren Bredahl

Warren C. Bredahl, 77, of Ripon, passed away September 10, 1994, at Ripon Medical Center.

He was born November 10, 1916, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Martin and Gertrude Cunningham Bredahl. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and did graduate studies at the University of Minnesota. He was a teacher and coach, and then worked as a sales representative for Scott Foresman & CO. for 36 years. Warren served his country in the United States Marine Corps and on June 3, 1944, he married Lucile “Jake” Jacobson. He was a past member of Rotary International, a member of Tuscumbia Men’s Golf, and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon. Warren served the City of Ripon as an alderman from 1969 – 1977, and then as Mayor from 1977 – 1982 and from 1984 – 1986. He also was past member of the Ripon School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Jake; two daughters, Pat (John) Kenny of Amherst, NH and Sue (John) Calvert of Singapore; two sons, Michael (Kit) Bredahl of Boca Raton, FL and Robert (Michelle) Bredahl of Orlando, FL and eight grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Kathleen (Cyril) Lyons of Antigo; one nephew, Jim (Jane) Lyons of Eagle River and one cousin, Newell (Marcella) Weiser of Elmwood. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services for Warren C. Bredahl will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, September 14, 1994, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.

Friends may call from 5 pm until 8pm, Tuesday, September 13 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon where a parish rosary will be recited at 6 pm.
