Warren F. Wilkes, age 95, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Copperleaf Village in Ripon.
Warren was born September 25, 1920, in the Town of Metomen, WI, the son of Emil and Ella (Eichstedt) Wilkes. He was educated in Ripon schools and in 1948, Warren married Gladys Daehn at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun. He was a dairy farmer all his life, retiring in 1976. Warren was an active member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. He was on church council, a member of Brotherhood, Couples Club and Dartball and a charter member of the turkey dinner at church. Warren was also on the Holmes School Board, Town of Metomen.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Gladys Wilkes of Ripon, WI; daughter, Cheryl (Gary) Lieske of Ripon, WI and son, Ronald (Diana) Wilkes of Florence, CO; four grandchildren, Jackie (Russ) Bogucke of Ripon, WI, Kevin (Sarah) Lieske of Ripon, WI, Heidi (Kevin) Behnke of Black Creek, WI and Julie (Matt) Sroka of Berlin, WI; 14 great-grandchildren, Hanna, Mitchell, Becca, Ben, Andrew, Anna, Declan, Ian, Katie, Ronnie, Devon, Cody, Brook and Aaron; sister, Florence Daehn of Hot Springs Village, AR. Warren is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation for Warren will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 9 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Warren will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Kevin P. Mundell will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in his name.
