Wendall J. Harris, 67, of 518 Newbury Street, Ripon, died May 31, 1994, at his home.
He was born on July 5, 1926, in New Brunswick, Canada, and was reared in Chicago, IL. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II, and on June 12, 1948, he married Dorothy Basner. Wendall taught physical education and coached football at Elmhurst College and Wheaton Christian High School for many years before entering business. After retiring 5 years ago, he and Dorothy moved to Ripon.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy B. Harris; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Basner; three sons, Keith D. (Barbara) Harris, Wendall Jay (Sara) Harris, and Scott D. (Judy) Harris; one daughter, Cheryl Ann (Jeffrey) Plitt; and 10 grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, Reg (Ethel) Harris; two sisters, Etta (Evan) Pedersen, and Hope (Ron) Lesniak.
A memorial service for Wendall J. Harris will be at 7 pm Monday, June 6, 1994, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Harvey Street, Ripon. Pastor Arthur Volkmann will officiate. In Lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Youth Fellowship (Mountain Lake Sports Academy) New Preston. CT in his name.
