Wilbert E. Weckwerth, age 78, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.
Wilbert was born on May 3, 1932, in Briggsville, WI, the son of Emil and Martha (Weishaar) Weckwerth. He served our country in the United States Army for two years and on August 27, 1955, Wilbert married Hazel Stibb. He worked for Allis Chalmers for 30 years as an assembler and was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Survivors include his wife Hazel of 54 years of Ripon; four sons, Richard (Susan) of Princeton, WI, Douglas (Nancy) of Fond du Lac, WI, Jeffrey (Laura) of Ripon, WI and Randy (Anita) of Princeton, WI; four daughters, Susan (Kurt) Koch of Brandon, WI, Debra (Jerome) Schliepp of Ripon, WI, Kathy (Charles) Congleton of Brandon, WI and Julie (Brian) Bukowiec of Brandon, WI; 19 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Lou Wacholtz of Montello, WI and Bonnie (Brian) Harmon of Ohio; one brother, Duane (Alice) Weckwerth of Montello, WI; one brother-in-law, Willis Cragin of Madison, WI; and multiple nieces and nephews. Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Barbara and Elaine.
Per family’s wishes, there will be a private funeral service for Wilbert Weckwerth on Monday morning, July 12, 2010.
Interment will take place at East Side Cemetery in the Township of Montello. Memorials may be given to Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
