Wilbur August Brinkmeyer, age 75, of Green Lake, WI, died Monday, February 24, 1997, at his home.
He was born December 14, 1921, in Chicago, IL, a son to the late Henry and Sarah Bohnenkemper Brinkmeyer. He graduated from high school and attended one year of college. He served in Europe during WWII. On March 17, 1951, he married Kathleen Brayley and she passed away on March 15, 1987. Wilbur was an auto parts salesman most of his life and moved from Dolton, IL, to Green Lake in 1977. The past 12 years he worked at Ripon Ace Hardware. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake and was Lay Minister of the church. He also belonged to the American Legion in Green Lake and was a member of Crime Stoppers of Green Lake County.
He is survived by four children, Kathy (Roy) Waters of Green Lake, Paul (Debbie) Brinkmeyer of Berlin, Marion Ziemba of Green Lake and Stephen (Linda) Brinkmeyer of Lake Village, IN; six grandchildren; one brother, Henry (Mary) Brinkmeyer of Chicago, IL; one sister, Lydia Chambers of Hazel Crest, IL; one sister-in-law, Betty Hoektra of Green Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 27, 1997, at 10 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, with Father John R. Dowd officiating. Burial will be in Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 1997, from 4 until 7:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral home in Ripon. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm followed by a Legion Service at 8 pm.
