William "Bill" Waltenberry

William “Bill” R. Waltenberry, age 76, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI.
Bill was born in Ripon on July 26, 1945, the son of Robert and Edna (Roeder) Waltenberry. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1963, and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he continued his education at Moraine Park Technical College. On March 3, 1973, he married Mary Ann Garro at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, where they have been devoted members since. Bill worked as a tool and die maker at Speed Queen in Ripon for 49 years. He was a member of the Ripon VFW, Post #1051, and an FFA Alumni. Bill enjoyed hunting, golfing, and was a very talented woodworker. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mary Ann Waltenberry of Ripon, WI; two daughters, Jamie (Mark) Chapin of Fond du Lac, WI and Brooke (Joe) Downs of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Dominique (Colin) Chapin and Joseph Chapin of Fond du Lac, WI; step grandchildren, Courtney, Kathryn, Gabryel, Avery and Reese; step great-grandchildren, Carter and Addison; a sister, Beverly (Roger) Fenner of Ripon, WI; sisters-in-law, Bev Garro and Patsy Garro both of Princeton, WI, and Barbara (Tom) Reif of Dalton, WI; and the Waltenberry cousins. He is further survived by his very special grandpuppies, Murphy, Sully, Simon and Nebula. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edna Waltenberry; father and mother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. S.J. Garro; and a brother-in-law, Francis Garro.
Visitation for Bill will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
