William Bill Herbert Wichman, age 84, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Bill was born on March 15, 1928, in Ripon, the son of Herbert and Thelma Joyce (Bird) Wichman. He graduated from Ripon High School and served our country in the United States Army from August 1946 1948 at Fort Mead, MD and he also gave nine years to the National Guards, 127th Division. Bill was a plant supervisor at Ripon Foods. He also worked as an auxiliary officer in Ripon and was also an EMT in Ripon. In 1996, Bill married Judith Holterman in Fond du Lac. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Judith of Ripon, WI; five children, Barbara (Don) Neff of Seattle, WA, Patti (Bruce) Peppler of Pickett, WI, Joan (Jim) Graf of Denver, CO, Margaret (Frank) Kautzer of Neenah, WI and Eric (Emily) Holterman of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren, Luke (fiance, Meaghan Davis) Kautzer of Redondo Beach, CA, Matthew (Missy) Peppler of Oak Creek, WI and Amanda (Special friend, Ryan Leahy) Kautzer of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Marian Kreger and Mabel Kreger both of Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Rose Wichman and Carol Wichman both of Ripon, WI and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, DuWayne Wichman and Les Wichman; father and mother-in-law, Nate and Betty Holterman; brothers-in-law, Elmer and Clayton Kreger and Jim Holterman and the mother of his children, Andrea Wichman Werzinske.
Visitation for William Wichman will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, from 4 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Wednesday, from 10 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for William Wichman will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971. Father William Whalen will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Avoca Cemetery in the Village of Oakfield at a later date.
