William J. Dahlke, 80, of 44 Parkway Terrace, Ripon, died Thursday, January 1, 2004, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
He was born September 22, 1923, in Dalton, WI, a son to Anton and Mildred (Lamphear) Dahlke. He attended school in Ripon. Bill served his country in the Army during WW II, and on February 12, 1944, he married Winnifred J. Johnson. Bill worked for Wisconsin Power & Light for the first 5 years after returning from the service. He then ran Bills Auto Service, then worked at NAPA for 18 years, and until his retirement, worked for his son at Butchs Engines in Ripon. He had lived in Ripon most of his life, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and V.F.W.
Survivors include his son, Butch (Linda) Dahlke of Ripon; 1 daughter, Barbara Krueger of Princeton; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Fred (Shirley) Dahlke of Ripon; 2 sisters, Mildred Kranz and Cordelia Tootie Davis, both of Ripon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
Per his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Inurnment will take place at Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn.
