William K. Jess, age 72, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 1953, at Ripon Municipal Hospital.
William was born January 11, 1881, in Ripon, WI, the son of Steven and Anna (Matzke) Jess. He lived in Ripon all of his life. William retired from Ripon Knitting Works in 1948 after many years. On June 27, 1907, he married Emma Dettman in Ripon. William was a member of the Catholic Knights. He belonged to the National Guard of Ripon for fifteen years and resigned as a First Lieutenant. William also belonged to the Ripon Fire Department for forty five years and served as secretary for twenty five years.
Survivors include his wife, Emma; one daughter, Miss Doris Jess of Downey, IL. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one sister.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 4, 1953, after 6:00 pm at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon with a Rosary at 8:00 pm
Mass of Christian Burial for William will be held on Friday, November 6, 1983, at 9:30 am at St. Wenceslaus Church in Ripon with The Reverend Joseph Platta officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
