William Macneill

William Joseph MacNeill, age 91, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 1986, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

William was born February 4, 1895, in Lake Mills, WI, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Jewett) MacNeill. He graduated from Indiana University and received his Masters from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a life member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. On March 2, 1918, William married Daphney Hurlbutt in Covington, KY. He worked as a foundry executive manager and also a real estate broker in Green Lake for 20 years. William was the founder of Green Lake Sanitary District; was the founder of Wisconsin Chapter of American Foundrymans Society and was a live service member and honorary member of Wauwatosa Curling Club.

Survivors include his wife, Daphney; two sons, Samuel of Wauwatosa and William of Green Lake; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service for William will be held on Monday, April 21, 1986, at 10:00 am at The Federated Church of Green Lake with Reverend Dwight Bastian officiating. Inurnment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee. A memorial is established for the Heart Association.
