William Mittelstaedt

October 29, 1918 — October 15, 2010

William T. Mittelstaedt, age 91, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.

William was born on October 29, 1918, in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles and Lillian (Traut) Mittelstaedt. He served our country in the United States Army in the 42nd Rainbow Infantry earning the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star. William also served in France, Germany and Austria. In 1941, he married Frieda Dummann in Pardeeville, WI. William worked for Fred Rueping Leather Company in Fond du Lac and was a member of the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278.

William is survived by his wife, Frieda of Ripon, WI; four sons, Phillip (Christine) Mittelstaedt of Leesburg, FL, Gregory (Saichon) Mittelstaedt of Glendale, AZ, Randy (Barbara) Mittelstaedt of Fond du Lac, WI and Ricky (Carol) Mittelstaedt of Ripon, WI; one daughter, Christine (Marshall Faulks) Mittelstaedt of Ripon, WI; nine grandchildren, Sherri, Phillip Jr., Katie, Aaron, Sarah, Allan and Kimberly Mittelstaedt, Jennifer ( Ben) Wagner and Brittnie Faulks; eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Miranda, Nathan, Anthony, and Carter Mittelstaedt, Raymond Edwards, Jaxson Trepanier and Ella Wagner and one sister, Lorraine Harrington of Madison, WI. William was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Glenn.

Visitation for William T. Mittelstaedt will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010, from 9:30 – 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial Service for William T. Mittelstaedt will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon with Military Honors to follow. Pastor Dennis Meier will officiate. A memorial is being established.
