William Ritchay

July 14, 1922 — January 9, 1989

Mr. William A. Ritchay, 66, of 820 Watson St. Ripon, died January 9, 1989, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 14, 1922, in Stevens Point to Raymond and Elizabeth Welch Ritchay. On August 20, 1949, he married Ellen Gordon.

Mr. Ritchay was a 1950 graduate of Marquette Law School. He was an attorney and had lived in Ripon the last 21 years. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon and a member of the American Legion Post #43. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 32nd Red Arrow Division.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Patrick, Michael, John and Thomas all of Ripon; five daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Jean) Pionke of Portage, Mrs. Edward (Ann) Bynum of San Antonia, TX, Mrs. Scott (Mary) Weiner of Middleton, Mrs. Peter (Margaret) Paczesny of Milwaukee and Kathleen Ritchay at home; 11 grandchildren and 1 sister, Mrs. Daniel (Elizabeth) Hurley of Milwaukee.

There will be no visitation, however, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. The Reverend William L. Toelle will officiate. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Stevens Point. A memorial has been established for the church.
