William F. Sauer, 72, of 427 Vermont St., Ripon, died Saturday, March 4, 1989, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 20, 1916, in Hancock, to William and Emma Fletcher Sauer, Sr. On January 29, 1955, he married Betty Voight.
Mr. Sauer was educated in Hancock. He was in the maintenance department at Speed Queen for 32 ½ years. He had lived in Ripon since 1946, and was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon.
He was in the Army from 1942 until 1946, and served in the military police.
Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Richard of Oakfield, Harvey of Bullhead, Arizona and Alvin of Neshkoro; three sisters, Edna Hayes of Beaver Dam, Dorothy Zills of Waupun and Laura Yanke of Oshkosh. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow will officiate. Interment will be in the Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield.
