William A. Zinecker, 61, of Green Lake passed away at his home on July 16, 2004, after a courageous battle of cancer and blood disorder.
He was born on November 27, 1942, in Port Washington, WI, to Raymond and Loraine (Augustin) Zinecker. Bill graduated from Oshkosh High School. On June 17, 1967, he married Kay Belau at the First Methodist Church in Ripon. He served his country by being a member of the Air National Guard. He retired due to ill health in 1992 from Mercury Marine after being employed for 23 years and known to all fellow workers as Bones.
He had many loves in life, firstly his family. He took great pride in babysitting his grandchildren. The family always depended on him -- always there to meet every need. His love of people was evident in the many ways he gave of himself. He served as Rosendale Cub Scout Leader, 4-H Leader and Little League Coach. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, was a council member and served as an usher for over 30 years. His faith was an important part of his life and guided him through the difficult times.
Fishing and hunting were a big part of his life, and was thankful for the time he was able to spend on Green Lake with family and his fishing buddies. He loved volunteering with his wife, Kay, helping give worship service at Parkview Care Center for many years. He was known as the bartender of Lakeview Estates. His love of life and people will leave a void in so many lives he touched.
Survivors include his wife, Kay; sons, Darren (Connie) of Princeton and Jaime (Kimberly) of West Rosendale; daughter, Jill (Tom) Auchtung of Ripon; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Jacob Zinecker, Trey & Hunter Auchtung; Jasmin & Julia Hubert. I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day, and when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray. When in the Lords great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged, big enough to keep.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and sincere appreciation to St Agnes Hospice Hope of Berlin, and especially to Mary for her compassionate care and friendship.
