Wilton Harold Tettenborn, age 80, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI, surrounded by his family.
Wilton was born at home in Markesan, WI, on April 27, 1942, the son of Harold and Charlotte (Dych) Tettenborn. After high school, he went on to serve our country as a member of the United States Army. Wilton married Janet Konow on July 10, 1971. Together they raised three wonderful daughters in the home he built. Wilton worked at Mercury Marine as a forklift driver for over 30 years. He loved spending time with his daughters and their families, and attending concerts in the park with his friends. He was proud to drive fellow veterans to their appointments for the Veterans Administration. Wilton enjoyed taking long drives, visiting Big Green Lake, fishing, spending time outdoors, traveling, and trips to the casinos. He also enjoyed daily breakfasts at Mr. and Mrs. Ps and was known as Smiley at Roadhouse.
Wilton is survived by his three daughters, Sara (Arthur) Howen, Caryn (Brian) Boegel, and Jayne Tettenborn; grandchildren, Cody and Sonia Howen, and Isabelle Boegel; former wife, Janet Tettenborn; and a brother, Neil Tettenborn. He is further survived by a niece and nephews. Wilton was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Charlotte Tettenborn; and a sister, Janice Shrock.
A visitation for Wilton will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 10 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
A funeral service for Wilton will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Clay R. Salmela officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon, WI, with a Final Salute and Military Funeral Honors. A memorial is being established in his name.
