Yvonne Holmes, age 78, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI.
Yvonne was born August 23, 1933, in Ripon, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Sprague) Gatzke. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1951 and from St. Agnes School of Nursing in 1954. On August 11, 1956, Yvonne married Samuel D. Holmes in Ripon. Yvonne was a Registered Nurse and worked for Green Giant of Ripon, Ripon Medical Center, Parkview Care Center and Speed Queen. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, the Educational Club, Priscilla Circle at Immanuel United Methodist Church, a member of Ripon Women’s Club, a member of Pilgrim Rebekah Lodge and an avid Bridge player.
Survivors include her mother, Ethel Gatzke of Ripon, WI; her daughters, Beth Revello of Ripon, WI and Heidi (Paul) Semenske of Green Lake, WI; one grandson Nicholas Revello of Ripon, WI; step-grandchildren, Adrian Semenske and Angelica Stahl both of Ripon, WI. Yvonne is preceded in death by twin infant sons, Jay and Jeffrey in 1960, her father, Clarence Gatzke, and her husband Samuel David Holmes in 2008.
Visitation for Yvonne Holmes will be held Sunday, July 15, 2012, from 4-7 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Monday, July 16, 2012, from 10-11 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Yvonne Holmes will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Pastor Paul Yoder will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope, 400 Hwy K, Fond du Lac, WI 54937 and also to The Samuel Holmes Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 242, Ripon, WI 54971.
